The vision of The City community church is to be a spiritually vibrant community of culture shapers that reaches Central Austin with the life changing reality of Jesus Christ.

Spiritually vibrant - our endeavor is spiritual → VALUE: BIBLICAL TRUTH

  • The church is the bride of Christ
  • The church was established by Jesus
  • The church is sustained by the Holy Spirit
  • The church is grown by the power of God
  • The church is spiritually speaking the hope of the world


Community - togetherness rather than isolation → VALUE: AUTHENTIC COMMUNITIES

  • Loving one another
  • Working together
  • Caring for each other
  • SMALL GROUPS


Culture shapers (part one) - Influencers → VALUE: INNOVATION

  • Education - UT
  • Commerce - Various businesses
  • Politics - lobbyists, lawyers, politicians, legislators
  • High Tech - Dell, IBM, National Instruments, Samsung, Google
  • Entertainment - live-music capital of the world, movies / TV shows, Gaming


Culture shapers (part two) - each one an ambassador for Christ → VALUE: BEAUTY

  • We are called to be excellent in what we do, representing Christ appropriately...
  • Fathers demonstrating the Father Heart of God
  • Husbands demonstrating the beauty of Christ in their behavior towards their wives
  • Workers working hard as unto the Lord
  • Each of us leveraging our unique circumstances → VALUE: PARTICIPATION
