Walk Worthy: SEX - God's gift
(Ephesians 5:1-5 & 1 Corinthians 6:12-7:5)
Introduction:
Sex. What goes through your mind when you hear that word? In our society sex has become an obsession for many if not a religion. Not only that, it has become big business as well. The adult entertainment industry takes in approximately $14 billion per year, more than pro Football, Basketball and Baseball combined.
But sex isn’t for business or a thing to worship, rather it is intended for pleasure; a good and perfect gift intended for marriage.
CITY GROUP QUESTIONS:
1. Who taught you about sex – e.g. parents, friends, siblings, locker room, the Internet…?
2. Do you agree / disagree that sex belongs into the confines of marriage? Explain.
3. What do you think is God’s view on sex? Is the idea that God created sex for our pleasure new to you? Is it weird to you? What does that mean?
4. How do you stay sexually pure in a society that is so hyper-sexualized? (What would qualify as sexually impure?)
5. What do you do when you are tempted sexually? Do you have a plan of escape? (What about accountability, support, etc.?)
