IS JESUS THE CHRIST?

There is virtually no argument whether Jesus is a historical figure; Roman, Jewish, and Christian historians agree he was a miracle worker who got himself killed under Pilate the Roman procurator of the province of Judea. Roman historians include such prominent figures as Suetonius, Pliny and Tacitus, as well as Jewish historian Flavius Josephus all confirm, Jesus a Jewish man from the rural town of Nazareth, travelled the country for a number of years preaching and working wonderous deeds, was crucified and subsequently worshipped as risen Christ.

There are more books written about him, more songs sung to him and greater effects ascribed to him than any other person in history. Even our calendar is divided into BC - before Christ - and AD - anno domino. Yet his resume is amazingly simple: Jesus never traveled internationally, never ran for political office, never ran a major company, never got married or had kids, never went to college and never wrote a book.

So, who is Jesus? Is he the Jesus of the cults, who suggest that he is the spirit brother of Lucifer? Is he an enlightened polygamist who became a god? Is he a good man who is essentially the incarnation of Mister Rogers?

This week we will answer the question, who is Jesus, really? To pick up a theme introduced by writer and philosopher C.S., Lewis, is Jesus LIAR, LUNATIC, or LORD?
